Charlie & Jaime - I have goosebumps right now and tears. I know too personally how you must be feeling. A little life being taken all too early. There is nothing that can be said to ease your grief right now. Please if you need to talk to me let me know. It will be a process and please take care of the other little ones.

I am sure that Nathan has joined my precious Isabelle and Wishing's precious Dante in heaven and all 3 amigos will be shinning down on us as they play together in the warmth of the love their parents will always have for them.

Charlie and Jaime - I am so very sorry to hear about this loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you both, and with Luke and Sam. Take very good care.
Me: 42, DH: 47, Issue: Male factor (morphology, count, motility and agglutination) and my age/egg quality issues

IVF#1: Feb '09 Flare Protocol, for details, see my profile page
HPT: March 6: BFP, BETA #1: March 9, 2009 - 808, BETA #2: March 16, 2009 - 13,535
U/S March 31/09 - not viable, "missed m/c"; procedure May 20, baby was a girl

IVF #2 - July '09 Estrogen Priming/Antagonist, for details, see my profile page
Negative HPT's followed by + Beta - August 6 12dp2dt = 125, August 13 17dp2dt - 2,546
Heavy spotting means emergency U/S on August 25 - revealing TWINS! Subchorionic bleed diagnosed.
NT Scans October 6 and 8th - both beans look good! Anatomy U/S November 20 - all is well with the babies; cervix struggling at 2.1cm; November 27 cervix 2.4; continue with rest and limited activity...
Jan 20 - cervix is thinning out - more restrictive rest ordered
Yippee - we made it to 34 weeks!!! Keep on cooking boys! C-section scheduled for April 1!

Alexander and Jacob arrived on March 20, 2010 and are doing great - we count our blessings every day!

IVF#3 - May 2011 - BFN as AF arrives early

IVF#4 - August/September 2011 - BFN

Having trouble letting go; consultations with Dr. Sher of Las Vegas and Dr. Hudson at Victoria.
All roads lead to Victoria for another faint hope try...

IVF#5 - suprefact begins November 6, then onto to agonist/antagonist conversion protocol with estrogen priming. Day 3 transfer of 3 excellent embryos; one Blast on ice; chemical pregnancy

IVF#6 (I know, I am crazy. We are doing one last fresh cycle and then will try our frozen embryo) - same protocol as last time around, retrieval February 15; +++ hpt on February 26, Beta March 1 (15dpo) = 161, Beta March 3 (17dpo) = 355!!! U/S March 22 7 w 1 d = 1 bean measuring 7w1d with heartbeat of 131!!! Minor spotting but extremely hopeful!!! U/S at 9 weeks, everything on track; NT April 24 results are wonderful, no further testing recommended; due date confirmed for November 7, 2012!
Dr Hudson truly is a miracle worker! Ryan born on November 5, 2012 - home birth in the water - amazing, intense experience. He is perfect - 7 pounds, 14 ounces. Our infertility journey is over and this experience with VFC and my home birth has been very healing.

I am so sorry to hear that little Nathan passed away, words alone do not seem like enough. I think you are a very strong Mama, and that focusing on your two boys that need you is definately going to get you through.
I wish you all the luck in the world.

THANK YOU to all of your for your kind words, support and friendship. I love people... but throughout our journey people have truly shocked and disappointment me. Be it the ignorant ass(es) that kept asking us when we were going to have kids, or the super fertile couple(s) who hurtfully kept saying how easy it was for them to get pregnant and suggested if we just relaxed it would happen for us too. People have really hurt me and that has been tough to deal with.
But I am overjoyed and deeply touched that I can now also say that people have amazed, inspired, astounded and moved me. In reading your posts, I feel so lucky to have found you all... I wish it had of been on some fun and crazy adventure instead of on a forum where we are all struggling with having our hopes and dreams trampled on... but I am honoured to have "met" you all... and thank you so much for being there for us.
Charlie and I are doing ok. We miss Nathan every day, but we are dealing, and healing... and we have two little teeny tiny boys who need us a lot, we have each other and a great families and some terrific friends... so we feel very lucky. Luke and Sam have had a string of good days, and we are having a lot of fun with them. They still have a lot of hurdles ahead of them... but they seem to be on the right track for today. It will be a fantastic day when we can post that they are both home with us... so stay tuned for that one :)
Thank you again for everything. I wish you all the best of everything and hope your journeys all have the happy endings you are looking for. I'm a bit terrible at keeping up to date with what is going on with you all, Hospital visits etc are keeping me good and busy, but if you want to chat, send me a message anytime.
Sincerely
Jamie (a.k.a. Chin Up)

Beta Dec 10 - BFP (547)
2nd Beta Dec 15: 2759!
U/S Dec 23 - Triplets!
U/S Dec 29 - all three look good, heartbeats detected :)
U/S Jan 7 - three strong heartbeats beating like crazy... so far so good!!!
U/S Jan 21 - three little active babies, three strong heartbeats!! Next appointment is at the General!
U/S Feb 5 - Everybody is doing great (whew!) :)
U/S Feb 19 - its a BOY... x three!!!! :) Three healthy baby boys (and me too) got the big thumbs up - everybody is doing great. Next appointment is in three weeks...
U/S Apr 9 - Boys are doing great. Baby A: 1lb 2 oz, Baby B: 1 lb, Baby C: 1 lb 2oz. The countdown for me to stop work is on. Next appointment is in two weeks...
U/S Apr 23 - Boys are doing great and putting on weight: Baby A = 1 lb 8 oz, Baby B = 1 lb 6oz, Baby C = 1 lb 7oz!! But... cervix is super short. Either Baby A is threatening to escape or his brothers are gaining up on him and trying to kick him out! So... hospital bed rest (can only get up for washroom breaks) starts today.
Apr 27 - received steroid shot #1 to help the babies' lungs develop. Boys are I are doing well and taking advantage on being waited on hand and foot.

BABIES ARE BORN!!
Baby A - Nathan Peter Harland (1 lb 8 oz) May 3rd - May 18th, 2009 Love you forever Sweet Nathan...
Baby B - Lukas (Luke) Jeffrey Harland (1 lb 6 oz) May 3rd, 2009
Baby C - Samuel (Sam) Charles Harland (1 lb 12 oz) May 11th, 2009
Yeah, Yeah... Triplets with different birthdays... you didn't except our boys to play by the rules did you? :)

Luke and Sam are in amazing hands in CHEO (Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario) and Nathan is doing a great job shining his light down on us as we hang on to this crazy roller coaster ride. The boys are generally doing well but they have their good and days (and have many hurdles yet to overcome) but they are having a good day today and we have totally fallen in love with them. Hoping to have them both home this fall...
