Name: Dog -Mom
Age: 32
How long TTC: 4 years
Diagnosis or any known issues: unexplained (most likely egg quality issue)
Treatments you tried before IVF: everything! including cloid x 3 months, 3 IUIs with injectables
How many IVF did you do before success:1, our second cycle was successful
Are you using donor eggs or sperm: no (that would have been next though)
Protocol (meds taken): it was an antagonist protocol with Gonal F, Luveris and cetrotide added on day 5
How many follicles at ER: 17 on trigger day
How many eggs retrieved: 19 (only 11 mature)
How many eggs fertilized: 9
How many days between ER and ET: many, we did a freeze all (I think this is best, I had no choice anyway because of risk of hyperstim, but after all the research I've done and on the reccomendation of my RE this leads to better outcomes and could possibly even lower risk of pre-eclampsia later on in pregnancy)
How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: Only got two blasts out of the whole thing (both 3ab). My first cycle we got two 4ab, and since I didn't see any difference I was sure this cycle would be a bust. I was just going through the motions at this point
Symptoms or issues during 2WW: none- its too early for symptoms, there's no way to tell and no-one should be going crazy symptom spotting that early. My symptoms didn't start until between 6 and 7 weeks
What day you got your BFP:  10 days after transfer- i stopped peeing on sticks and just waitted for the blood test.
HPT before blood test: too traumatic! have developed an aversion to those
Number of first beta: 94
Number of babies: one precious and very wanted baby girl!!! (due Feb 2, 2016)
Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process:
It would have been nice to have a crystal ball! otherwise I think , true to nature, I over re-searched , over-obsessed and became pro-foundly affected by infertility. But there is the other side and I am so happy to leave it behind, even if I go back for a second I dont think it will be as traumatic, now that I know what to expect .

 Me: 32

DH: 32- No Issues on semen analysis

DX: very mild endo (not causing IF) unexplained- egg quality most likely

Started TTC July 2011

IVF # 1  in SEpt 2014

Sept. 13- started Menopur 375 mg daily

Sept. 17- u/s 15 follicles total- range 8 to 13 mm- Orgalutran added

Sept 24- Egg retrieval- will be a freeze all cycle whether we want to or not, high e2 and progesterone. Triggered with Decapeptyl on Sept 22

Sept 24 retrieved 16 eggs. 10 mature , 6 fertilized with Icsi, ONLY 2 good enough to freeze (but both 4ab quality). Very disappointed with results sad.png

Age: 32
How long TTC: 2 years
Diagnosis or any know issues: unknown
Treatments you tried before IVF: 1 year natural, 2nd year everything under the sun: acupuncture, gluten-free diet, chinese herbs, Femara for 7 months, 3 IUI's
How many IVF did you do before success: worked on the first try!
Are you using donor eggs or sperm: no
Protocol (meds taken): 21 days on BCP, 75 Puregon, 75 Menopur, Orgalutron
How many follicles at ER: 17
How many eggs mature: 16
How many eggs fertilized: 10 (ICSI)
How many days between ER and ET: 5
How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: 2aa blasts
Symptoms or issues during 2WW: occasional cramps, sore breasts, late onset OHSS Day 5 after ET
What day you got your BFP: Day 6 post ET
HPT before blood test: Day 5 post ET
Number of first beta: 135 (6DP5DT)
Number of babies: 2
Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process: I was taken by surprise by the late onset OHSS. I didn't have any problems while I was stimulating so I thought I'd avoid it. It hit me pretty hard 5 days post ET, I had 2.2 litres of fluid extracted from my tummy day 6 and felt horrible for two more weeks. It was well worth it, though and I am grateful our IVF worked on the first try, we've been very lucky! :D

How many IVF did you do before success:Success on our first try
Are you using donor eggs or sperm:  Nope, our own contributions were used
Protocol (meds taken): don't remember all now.
How many eggs retrieved: 3
How many eggs fertilized: 2
How many days between ER and ET: 3
Symptoms or issues during 2WW: obsessive pregnancy test taking disorder ;-)
What day you got your BFP:  Day 18
HPT before blood test: 5DP3DT
Number of first beta: 872
Number of babies: 1 (our beautiful baby boy, Theo, born February 19th)
Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process:
I wish I hadn't waited so long to try IVF. We lost a lot of valuable time trying charting, fertility monitors, ovulation predictor kits, etc... If we had started sooner, we might have had time for more than one child. As it stands, I will be 44 years old tomorrow and have now 'aged out' of programs using my own eggs. I also wish that I had been more relaxed about the whole process. It wasn't nearly as stressful as I thought it would be.

Age: 29 at retrieval, 30 during FET

How long TTC: 3 years
Diagnosis or any known issues: unexplained. DH has 0-1% morphology, but an extremely high count so RE felt unlikely the cause.  Possible poor egg quality based on IVF results.
Treatments you tried before IVF: letrazole, IUI
How many IVF did you do before success: 1 IVF cycle
Are you using donor eggs or sperm:  No
Protocol (meds taken): Antagonist, 150 Bravelle, 75 Menopur
How many eggs retrieved: 12
How many eggs fertilized: 5
How many days between ER and ET: We had 1 blast make it and had to freeze it due to high risk OHSS (estrogen at 20,000+).  We transferred it about 5 months later during a natural cycle FET
Symptoms or issues during 2WW: Spotting, some nausea, but nothing that made me think it had worked.
What day you got your BFP: Did not do any HPTs prior to beta so 12dp5dt
HPT before blood test: Nope
Number of first beta: 512
Number of babies: 1 healthy baby boy
Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process: 1)How incredibly unpredictable this process is.  With my age and egg reserve we were told that we'd have NO problems getting pregnant with IVF.  One very arrogant RE even said to me when I expressed my worry that it wouldn't work that he'd "Buy me a house if I didn't get pregnant".  Well, despite estrogen approaching 20,000, 25+ mature-appearing follicles on ultrasound prior to retrieval, we wound up with only 7 mature eggs, only 5 eggs fertilizing and only ONE embryo surviving. We came very very close to having NOTHING despite what seemed like almost guaranteed odds.  Of course, then we turned around and defied the odds again by having that one embryo survive the thaw and implant during a natural cycle FET (The RE monitoring me during my FET cycle told me that I hadn't even ovulated yet.....I told him I knew I had and demanded that we transfer the embryo....ass****), and had one precious baby.

2) TRUST YOUR BODY AND YOUR INSTINCTS.  It's so easy to lose complete faith in your body during this process.  I felt broken. I felt defective. Even after I got pregnant, I felt certain my body would fail to grow that baby or fail to birth that baby.  As hard as it is, try not to let infertility define your body and what you are capable of.

Me -29 31- unexplained poor egg quality. I was told I had endometriomas.....but repeat ultrasounds at other clinics have said no sign of endometriomas. Maybe PCOS-like ovaries, but no PCOS - AMH, AFC are great. No one can explain why my eggs are so poor sad.png

DH 30 - severe teratospermia, count and motility are excellent.

May 2014 - 2.5mg femara - BFN (ovulated night before)

June 2014 - IUI with 5mg femara - BFN (ovulated night before)

August 2014 - IVF with ICSI - Antagonist protocol, 150Bravelle, 75 menopur, stimmed 8 days

- 19 follicles (all 15-22mm at trigger), 12 eggs retrieved, 7 mature,, 5 fertilized with ICSIsad.png

- only 7 mature eggs with an estrogen of 20000?! wtf?! Sigh...Freeze All

-only one BB Blast made it. Freeze "all" became "freeze one". All others arrested between day 3 and 4 sad.png

January 2015 - FET of lone embryo - c'mon little figher

- BFP!!! Beta 1 475 at 10dp5dt , Beta 2 - 1495 at 12dp5dt

Baby boy born Sept 28/15

Diagnosis or any known issues: Unexplained
Treatments you tried before IVF: 3 medicated IUI cycles
How many IVF did you do before success: 3, two BFN and 1 ended in miscarriage
Are you using donor eggs or sperm: No

How many days between ER and ET: 5 days for both IVF retrieval
How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred:
1 5-day blast for first 3 embryo transfers on the fourth try we were finally able to transfer 2 5-day blasts. I live in Quebec and was covered by the provincial gvt for my first 3 IVF cycles and only 1 embryo could be transferred at a time.
Symptoms or issues during 2WW: Sore breasts and nausea but never sick. Also started to have dull cramps as of the 3rd day following transfer.
What day you got your BFP: July 13th (my husband's Bday) Best Bday present EVER!!!
HPT before blood test: no but did do so after just so I could finally see a positive result :)
Number of first beta: 350, 11 days after transfer
Number of babies:unknown
Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process: Wish I would have known about the Hysteroscopy procedure. Finally did it before my 3rd embryo transfer. It's an uncomfortable procedure but so worth it in my case. I finally got my first BFP, but beta hcg result was only 36 and numbers did not go up sufficiently, ended in miscarriage. We remained positive though since we had finally gotten a positive result and decided we would go ahead and pay for another IVF egg retrieval and fresh transfer of 2 embryos. Got our BFP and 3 embryos frozen for future use. Do not lose hope and don't get discouraged. Best of luck to everyone.

Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process: I had really great advice given to me - keep your expectations to a minimum. Stims may take longer (or less time) than anticipated. I stimmed for 12 days and thought that meant I was doing terribly. I thought my 7 eggs were a miserable number, especially since I had twice as many follies. Keeping your expectations out of it, going day to day, and realizing that everyone's cycle will be different and their results unique to them - and don't compare. Also - the fear is worse than the actual process - IVF is a total mind game. I was terrified of the injections and they were fine. (But considering getting your spouse/partner to do them - it creates a big bonding experience and helps them feel like they are really a part of the process.) Fear of retrieval, for me, was so much worse than retrieval. And then fear in the 2WW was brutal. If I had taken a breath and just let things come as they did, I would have saved myself a ton of stress and effort.
