AF?????
I am now CD33. I am a CD28-30 kind of gal.
I was 'pretty sure' I O'd around cd16...but I am thinking that I was way off....maybe I didn't even O this cycle? (though that has NEVER happened in the 2.5 years of ttc...but also had never done an ivf before...) But I had ewcm, and O pains around then, so that was why I was thinking cd16.
How long did it take any of you that have cycled before to get the AF after the AF right after the ivf? Any major delays?
I am about 99% positive I am not pg...(though I do wish....wish...and wish...LOL), but I refuse to poas because I actually love to torture myself with thoughts of a surprise pregnancy......how messed up is that?
On the bright side, being late has gotten dh excited, and he has said that he now remembers why we are doing this. That little glimmer of hope. I am glad he has gotten his hope back.
Anyway, yeah.....is AF really late after IVF normally? Or have I screwed up my body somehow with all those wonderful drugs?

My cycle was definitely off after my first IVF attempt. I figure all the drugs have to have some effect on our natural cycles, and the clinic said that was very normal.
I totally can relate to what you said about refusing to POAS, and torturing yourself. I felt exactly the same way when AF was very late. That glimmer of hope no matter how low the odds, and not wanting to confirm it either way because it will hurt so much if it's negative. That's why through all of my cycles, assisted or natural, I never POAS. I guess for me, it was easier just not to know and think in the back of my mind that maybe I really am... I think no matter what, you just have to keep that hope alive.

OH yay!! Another POASphobic!!! I thought I was alone!
And yeah, I pretty much figured it was my body working the turkey through as it were...

Hi!
Yep AF can be sooo evil after a cycle----- and then again when you are waiting for her to come. My RE said that the mere pressure we place on ourselves makes AF get shy....grr. Fingers crossed that you will start soon.

Mine was always delayed at least 5 days after an unsuccessful cycle. Well, the AF that told me it was unsuccessful was never late, but the one after that was 5+ days late. Always thought of that as a rather cruel joke on Mother Nature's part.

I used to totally SHUN POAS. I bought some when we first started ttc, and they stayed unused for 2 years as I vowed not to use them until I was at least 4 days late. well of course that never happened. finally they got used for my ivf, when i broke down and tested early. Funny thing, though, that since my m/c after that ivf, that I absolutely HAVE to test, one day b4 AF is due, so I don't "find out" that it's a negative by seeing blood. this way i find out when i'm ready, not at some random time/place where i don't want to show that i'm upset. Not that I ever believe for a second it will be postive. I don't know what has come over me.

My AF was WAY LATE too. I kept thinking exactly the same way your are. I hope it comes soon for you and you can get started on the next round. If it makes you feel better, once my AF finally came, time flew and the next thing I knew...I was starting my next cycle! Good luck!

Did IVF last cycle, failed (chemical pregnancy) and then AF this cycle came day 42. Yes two whole weeks late. While RE said that was unusual, many on this post have had the same experience. I was too scared of doing a home test, but RE made me get a blood test...of course BFN.
I too suspect this was an anovulatory cycle....
I hope this was my body's way of recalibrating everything after all the meds and elevated hormone levels.

I am in a bit of a similar situation. We haven't done IVF yet. I was on clomid this cycle. I am now CD34, and usually right around 28. I had pains around ovulation. I have other "symptoms" that could be pregnancy related, like increased trips to the little girls room, sore breasts, cramping. I did POAS on Thursday (CD31) and it was BFP. I can't get in to see my doctor until Tuesday (unfortunately not at a fertility clinic yet - that's another story!). I POAS lastnight and BFN, again this morning BFN. I am starting to agree with you that POAS are evil! I never usually have used them in our 3+ years TTC, but this all looked promising to me and couldn't resist. I am now regretting the last 2 and wishing I had just waited till Tuesday. In all my life, I have only ever had maybe 2 cycles that were irregular (one was after HSG and was horrible). So now I don't know what to think.

OI with Gonal-F- April 2009 - IUI cancelled as lead follie on left ovary and no tube on that side. 2 small follies on right but won't catch up before ovulation.
Surprise BFP on cancelled cycle!! Somehow either a small follicle grew fast or tube caught egg from other side.

OI with Gonal-F- April 2009 - IUI cancelled as lead follie on left ovary and no tube on that side. 2 small follies on right but won't catch up before ovulation.
Surprise BFP on cancelled cycle!! Somehow either a small follicle grew fast or tube caught egg from other side.

Yeah, I KNOW if I poas it will be a bfn.....I just know. So why waste the test.
But same here, I am like clockwork, every month. Clomid, no clomid, etc.
My boobs are a bit sore today, so maybe things are moving right along......time will tell.
I have a show to see tomorrow in Toronto (Rancid..heh) and I am sure she will show then or something, just to make my night. NOT.

Hopefull - Enjoy the show. If AF shows then, maybe someone can beat her up for you!! LOL
I can imigane how you are feeling so aggravated with what is going on, and having some possible symptoms, and no AF, and not wanting to go there in your head. I agree with you now - don't POAS - they are cruel and whoever invented them anyways?

Ugh. And she is STILL not here.
And I have been cramping for what seems like forever and ever.
But I still REFUSE to poas.
Boobs only slightly sore. Nips a bit itchy. Creamy cm. I have no idea what the hell is going on with my body.....

Hopeful Flyer - Right after my chemical preg happened to me last year and when I stopped the Prometrium, I had AF within 2 to 4 days.....not bad and there after my cycle was 30-35 days (normal for me)
When my cycle was cancelled in April (I was on gonal f for 5 days & synarel) I was told by the Dr. that I could call in with my next day 1. He told me it would be in a few weeks since my E2 levels were not that high.......well 59 days later......AF showed!
I too didn't POAS (I wasn't wasting the money) and when the nurses told me to - I just laughed at them!
I know the 59 days doesn't help you - but I know where you are coming from with your frustration.

U/S - Aug 3 - 35 weeks - induction date decided!! thank goodness - 'cause I am done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Induction date is August 18th - but I am already 2-3cm dialated - so we'll see if I meet 'the date'. Baby A weighs 6 lb 6 oz and baby B is 5lb 15 oz.
U/S - Aug 13 - 37 weeks - still sitting at 3cm dilated - confirmed induction date with L&D August 18th.
This pregnancy has been a long haul and I'm glad that it's nearly over!
Our 2 healthy baby boys arrived on Sunday August 19th - we are thrilled and over the moon......family is finally complete and now we can move on to the next chapter in our lives.......

My clinic said they could give me a shot to bring AF on. Not sure what it was, and didn't need it in the end. Maybe you should POAS, you never know. I know, I know, I wouldn't either...
Sorry to change the subject, but Lea, I noticed you are on exactly the same cycle schedule as me. Except that my clinic is making me wait until Aug 18th for beta. How are you feeling? I'm trying to stay as relaxed as possible, but have to admit, am a bit freaked out...

Sorry to change the subject, but Lea, I noticed you are on exactly the same cycle schedule as me. Except that my clinic is making me wait until Aug 18th for beta. How are you feeling? I'm trying to stay as relaxed as possible, but have to admit, am a bit freaked out...

I feel ok other than feeling bloated and wee bit crampy. I've been feeling crampy since Saturday - Prometrium plays such mind games with my head. I keep touching my boobs....lol....every little soreness I think - oh maybe they stuck to the wall or maybe it's the prometrium?? But it's way to early to tell - I know that!
Yes, the 2ww freaks anyone out!! How are you feeling? Hope you're keeping busy to keep your mind off of things - I know easier said than done. One thing for sure I am not going to POAS! Stay strong! Stay Stong!

U/S - Aug 3 - 35 weeks - induction date decided!! thank goodness - 'cause I am done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Induction date is August 18th - but I am already 2-3cm dialated - so we'll see if I meet 'the date'. Baby A weighs 6 lb 6 oz and baby B is 5lb 15 oz.
U/S - Aug 13 - 37 weeks - still sitting at 3cm dilated - confirmed induction date with L&D August 18th.
This pregnancy has been a long haul and I'm glad that it's nearly over!
Our 2 healthy baby boys arrived on Sunday August 19th - we are thrilled and over the moon......family is finally complete and now we can move on to the next chapter in our lives.......

I feel the same as you, but less today. I'm doing the boob thing too...LOL. The thing I'm finding hard is remembering to take it easy. My job can involve some heavy lifting, so I have to be really conscious of that. Even this morning when I got into work and wanted to make tea, the water cooler was empty, so I changed it without thinking. Sooo stupid, but just habit. I probably shouldn't be drinking tea either come to think of it...Man, it's going to be a long 2 weeks...

For the 59 day cycle, was that just waiting for AF when the cycle was canceled? Or was that the cycle after the first AF after the cancel?

U/S - April 27 - 21 weeks - babies are doin' good!
U/S - May 10 - 23 weeks - cervix length 5cm - babies good - heart rates 140 -149.
U/S - May 24 - 25 weeks - check up went well.....confirmed that i will be induced or scheduled c-section for 38 weeks!!
U/S - June 8 - 27 weeks - cervix length still locked and loaded.......5cm babies looking good - baby A 2lb 7oz baby B 2lb 12oz
U/S - June 28 -30 weeks - baby A still bum down and baby b head down.....it's looking like a c-section for me!
U/S - July 13 - 32 weeks - baby A has turned (head down) their weights - baby A 3lbs 15 oz and baby B 4lbs 3oz
U/S - July 23 - 34 weeks - both babies doing well - measuring right on track.
U/S - July 27 - 34 weeks - part 2 - just getting a 'quick' u/s done - babies lookin' good...though, baby B is being squished by baby A.....
U/S - Aug 3 - 35 weeks - induction date decided!! thank goodness - 'cause I am done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Induction date is August 18th - but I am already 2-3cm dialated - so we'll see if I meet 'the date'. Baby A weighs 6 lb 6 oz and baby B is 5lb 15 oz.
U/S - Aug 13 - 37 weeks - still sitting at 3cm dilated - confirmed induction date with L&D August 18th.
This pregnancy has been a long haul and I'm glad that it's nearly over!
Our 2 healthy baby boys arrived on Sunday August 19th - we are thrilled and over the moon......family is finally complete and now we can move on to the next chapter in our lives.......

I was getting fed up for waiting for AF to show that on day 58 (Friday) I called the clinic and they scheduled an u/s for monday to see what was going on and then the next day (day 59) AF showed.
But if I hadn't gotten AF they were going to give my prometrium to bring on AF.

I had a similar experience waiting for AF before an FET - I couldn't stand it though I was 6 days late, so I POAS'd and it was negative.
It's just not fair what AF or lack of AF can do to us!

Ok, started spotting, so I will assume she is on her way. Only 10 days late, not too bad, but enough to tick me off!!!!!!!!!!
