Hi everyone, I so glad I can finally write in the pregnancy forum. Just out of curiosity, what were the heartbeat of your babies.I am currently 9 weeks pregnant (today) and I went for an ultrasound yesterday and the baby's heartbeat was at 136. When I went 2 weeks ago, it was at 146. Is this normal???
The technician told me it was either the heartbeat slowed down because i was further in my pregnancy or the baby was probably not moving much.
Just a tad bit concerned, should I be???
Any help would be appreciated.

My dr told me that anything between 120 and 170 is considered normal. The baby could have been resting or sleeping and that could be a reason for the difference. My last appointment was in the morning and the heartbeat was 140 where it had always been 150 or higher. Dr thinks that the baby was still sleeping, as my other appoiontments were all in the afternoon.

Midnite-That's totally normal..nothing to worry about. The lower heartrate could just mean the baby is at rest, just like our heartrates lower when we're at rest. I too was worried about this. My baby's HB was always around 150-160 then one appt it was 120. I panicked, but the doctor just laughed & assured me that was normal. They like to see the HB b/w 110-170.

I also read that at the fetal heatrate start to slow down from around 9th week of pregnancy. Once it starts to slow down every week by 3-4 hertbeat. So by the time the baby born the heartrate should be much more normal.
Just imagine an adult heartrate only at those 140+ rate, when you do a VERY intense aerobic execrsize.
A fetus has so high heartrate, because its heart is not very strong yet and have to work very hard to able pump the blood around. As the heart became stronger, it needs to do less pump per minute to get the blood around.

Congrats midnight on your little baby! I asked the same question in our u/s. The one little hb was 127 and the other was 134. I always remember my daughters being between 140's and 160's. They told me the same numbers as the others said between 110-170. I feel like every step of the way of IVF is exciting but worrisome. I think having 3 miscarriages prior I am always a little hesitant to get super excited. Best wishes to you and your little peanut inside!

HI Sheba, thank you and congrats to you as well.
Are you having twins???
I dont remember what my sons was, it was 13 years ago!!!!
I am so sorry for the miscarriages you had. I suffered 1 and I know how devastationg it can be, I cant imagine how hurtful it is when it happens a few times. I wish you all the best with your pregnancy and a happy healthy pregnancy.
