Since starting my meds for my FET a month ago (bcp, estrace and one shot of Lupron) I have put on 20 pounds. Is this normal? I cannot remember from my first fresh cycle if this happened or not. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't done meds for FET yet but I did gain significant weight during my IVF cycle. Although I thought it was the gonal-f that made me gain, but it was probably a combination of them all.

Each time I go on BCP I gain weight.

For my FET i did estrogen patches and progesterone.
I worked out for the first 2 weeks and then did nothing for the last 2 weeks (2ww).
I didn't gain any weight.
Good luck and maybe watch the carbs ( we all crave those when we are cycling !

Thanks for the responses. I am not a huge fan of carbs but I will keep that in mind LOL. I workout 5 days a week as well, so I was quite surprised to see the scale jump so quick.

Hi there,
I have gained 20ibs since we strated our treatments in Dec 2007. I work out a lot but can't seem to drop any pounds. I did a icsi cycle as well as a frozen embryo transfer. Both were BFN. In the meantime I don't feel like myself because I'm so much heavier. Have the drugs caused weight gain for others?

Oh I don't even look like my former self! I've gained about 35lbs.I was working out and eating healthly, the stress of TTC and work and commute and workout and BLAH! Bam, I can only focus on 1 goal right now. I still make sure I put some miles on my sneakers walking my furbaby - ugh, I think I'm quoting Tori Spelling :-) The drugs do cause weight gain, but those Big Mac Attacks aren't doing much for my girlish figure. Signed, bubble butt :-)

No experience with fet but with my IVF cycle I did gain quite a bit of weight.

I'm not sure if I gained weight or not from my first IVF because that was the lucky jackpot in which we conceived our son. We tried a few months ago an FET for baby #2 (which was unsuccessful) and I'm still trying to lose the 5-10 pounds I gained. I hated being on Estrace and Progesterone! It made me feel 10x worse than the Gonal-F ever did. I feel permanently bloated now. I don't know why that would be because I thought Estrace was a much gentler drug.
