I think it's just hard to wrap your head around the fact that there really is no cure for IF - adopting, having a successful IVF cycle, or whatever else. The pain and trauma doesn't go away, it stays with us. About the adoption....I think books could be written about people's perceptions around that topic.

"The biggest annoyance for me is the misconception that adoption is the fall back plan for infertility and somehow cures the sadness that comes with it." - Couldn't agree more.

Feeling a bit worried. My baby is measuring about the 90th percentile and I have excess amniotic fluid. Going for the 2 hr diabetes test in case the 1 hr one missed GD and being referred to high risk OB who will consult with my midwife.

Hang in there! Diabetes can be controlled in pregnancy and a baby who isn't growing is way worse than one who is :-) I'm a midwife and we see this all the time - often mistakingly high fluid is seen when the baby is on the bigger side.

Thank you, Curlygirl! I do have a sweet tooth and after I passed the GD screening, I wasn't as cautious with how many treats I ate so I feel stupid and guilty but, hope we can figure out what is wrong and manage it. Not much longer til the big guy arrives!

I have type 1 diabetes, so my 'little' guy ended up weighing 8lbs 4oz at 36.5 weeks when I had him! Chubby is cute :-)

Opinion needed: Last period was a 35 day cycle (unusual for me), now I just got my period again after only 17 days! Cause for worry? Stress? Pre-Menopause? My FSH does not indicate menopause but I'm 43...

Hopefully it is just a wonky cycle, but it could be the start of perimenopause. At the beginning of perimenopause, the FSH may not yet be high (and can also be suppressed if your estradiol is high, which is also seen in perimenopause).

As for the "adrenal fatigue" - please read this:

I just don't want your doctor to assume your cycle irregularities are due to this fictitious...

Thanks for this...As for adrenal issues, I am seeing a hormone specialist who is specifically testing for things. One thing that is known for sure is that my cortisol levels are out of whack. My understanding is that cortisol can impact the other hormones too.

Did a D&C last cycle as a more aggressive trauma but still ended up with a BFN, wondering if I should do another or just opt for the scratch instead

What I really don't want to be doing today is preparing for an interview. I'm on medical leave pending maternity leave and my position is ending while on mat leave so I have to interview for a new job ugh!!!

Best of luck. I am also going for an interview in two weeks. I have a permanent position but trying to switch to a different job. They cannot refuse me only because I am pregnant? Can they? I am not sure how to proceed with this as I am very pregnant.

Do you ever get the feeling your being left behind? Will we ever get our rainbow? Thinking our journey is almost to it's next chapter and I am thinking I will have to deal with being childless :(

I've been there too. I went through many failed cycles, losses, failed surrogacy and felt hopeless. I don't wish those feelings on anybody. Big hugs

Will I ever learn the lesson of not reading the comments on the CBC website that pertain to anything fertility related? Good lord, but people are mean.

But I bet those are the same people who happily send lots of money to that guy for his potato salad or whatever that was a while ago. It is really scary how stupid a lot of people are.

It's the ones that are probably sitting on social assistance with a bunch of kids and know nothing about infertility and what it's like to have to experience it. Sad that ppl can't keep their negative comments to themselves.

Just waiting on beta to confirm the BFN from our last fet. We're out of embryos so we’re back to IVF. DH hasn't taken supplements for years. What are everyone's thoughts on Fertilaid vs the slew of vitamins I made him take last time. His sperms count was less than 1 million. ICSI was our only option.

I have a friend whose husband had really good results with Fertilaid. Make sure he takes them with food though because they can make him nauseous.
