Trying naturally before taking Suprefact

Hello,
I am to start taking Suprefact on cd21 of this cycle (currently cd10) for my first IVF long protocol, and my RE does not have me on birth control pills. Should we be using an alternate form of protection, or would it be ok to try naturally? I don't even know if I would ovulate before starting the Suprefact, but wouldn't want to miss out on a chance to try if we can. However, I also don't want to harm the baby if we were to get pregnant. Thank you in advance for your time!

I just posted this question, but don't see it...so I will try again.

I know we are to stay away from sex, but I had a really nice nap and woke up to an orgasm. I had cramps for about a minute and then they went away and I feel fine. Reason for worry?

Can advil affect implantation?

Hello,

I recently had an FET done (Jan. 13) - they transferred 3 embryos (2 were compacting and 1 was 12 cell). I experienced some cramping during the procedure, then later on minor cramps late at night and during the next day. I called the nurse (just to be sure it was normal). She advised I take Advil (I was a little hesitant, but she insisted it was fine). Well being off work, I had nothing but time so of course searched the internet, and found a lot of sites advising against taking advil (some websites stated it could affect implantation) - these were a mix of chat room talks and regular websites. Anyhow, I ended up testing negative yesterday, so I am wondering, could you please let me know if infact Advil can affect implantation? I am going to ask my RE as well, but my follow up isn't for another few weeks. I would appreciate it if you could please shed some light on the whole Advil topic, as soon as possible..

Thank you!

blastocyst grading

Hello Doctors,

My question pertains to blastocyst grading....Is there a relationship between grade of blastocyst on day 5 and clinical pregnancy rate? I didn't really pay attention to the grade of my transferred blast, but I do remember seeing a 2BC or something, I think!

I did an eSET (first IVF cycle) on day 5 but am now worried that I should have transferred 2 if they aren't such great quality blasts. I guess I was so focused on the fact that they grew to blast anyhow, and on deciding 1 vs 2. At no time did anyone say "well they aren't such great quality so go for two...."

My cycle in general went smoothly as follows:

marvelon, suprefact, puregon (125)
10 eggs retrieved, 9 mature
8 fertilized with ICSI
day 3 - 5 were 8/2, 1 5/3, 1 4/2
day 5 - didn't pay close enough attention! But 5 still going, one at morula stage still.

Any insight into whether or not I should be worried would be great!

Thanks for your time,

When to go to Fertility Clinic

To Whom it May Concern,

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to answer these questions for all of these ladies.

I am 30 yrs of age, and my husband is 37. We have been "trying" to conceive (sorry, I don't have all the abbreviations correct yet) for a year now, but not really TRYING. I don't seem to have a menstral cycle for about 6 months at a time. It has always been very irregular. My BMI is well within normal limits. I eat according to the Canadian Food Guide and exercise regularly (but not excessively). I have very mild hypothyroidism which is being treated with Synthroid (the lowest dose) which doesn't make a real difference in my life as a whole but my doctor thought it would help. Also, I keep forgetting to tell my MD this but my family does have a history of fibrocystic breast disease, and my left breast is often tender on the lateral aspect with tiny nodules in it (more than the right). I would like to have a baby at some time but am not overly concerned about it. We are to see a Fertility Clinic in March. I am hoping to start/buy a business also with in the year (hopefully sooner than later) that I am experienced in and that I have a good shot of making a go of, as I have good financial and emotional support. I am just concerned about trying to do the fertility treatment at around the same time as trying to start/buy this business...

Here is what I am curious about (and I know I am asking for a alot because you don't have the full battery of tests to look at):
1. what do YOU think the diagnosis is? I am thinking that it may be PCOS???
2. APPROXIMATELY what do you think the chances are of conceiving even once we see the specialist?
3. what do you think the protocol would be for treatment?
3. would it hurt to postpone the fertility clinic appointment for a while to get this business up and runnning?
4. would the specialist consider it a waste of their time if we did keep the appointment, got the diagnosis and then didn't take treatment for a while?

Thank you for your time and consideration,

Can allegra effect sperm quality?

Hello! I am currently on day 2 of stimulation. My husband has (out of no where) started breaking out in hives. This started 2 days ago. Since then he has taken Allegra 180 mg. It is used for allergies. I had some on hand so I gave it to him. My concern is, will this have any effect on his sperm quality or production? Thank you so much for your help!

Hi Doctors! I seem to have a possible yeast infection starting. Noticed a little redness and itching this morning. I am scheduled for a 5DT Saturday morning. I'm wondering if this yeast infection could harm my embryos or prevent a BFP? Thank you so much for your help!

2 appointments

Hello,

My husband has an appointment with Dr Grober on February 8th and we got a call today for an appointment with Dr Lu on March 4th. I am just curious if we should be keeping the two appointments? They are at 2 different locations therefore I am not sure if one is related to the other. Are they for the samething or is Dr Grober for male infertility and Dr Lu is for female infertility?

My husband has been diagnosed with low sperm count and motility. I've been tested and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with me.

Thanks,
