Opinion needed: Last period was a 35 day cycle (unusual for me), now I just got my period again after only 17 days! Cause for worry? Stress? Pre-Menopause? My FSH does not indicate menopause but I'm 43...
Faith&HopeHopefully it is just a wonky cycle, but it could be the start of perimenopause. At the beginning of perimenopause, the FSH may not yet be high (and can also be suppressed if your estradiol is high, which is also seen in perimenopause).
As for the "adrenal fatigue" - please read this:
I just don't want your doctor to assume your cycle irregularities are due to this fictitious...

leigh14Thanks for this...As for adrenal issues, I am seeing a hormone specialist who is specifically testing for things. One thing that is known for sure is that my cortisol levels are out of whack. My understanding is that cortisol can impact the other hormones too.

Did a D&C last cycle as a more aggressive trauma but still ended up with a BFN, wondering if I should do another or just opt for the scratch instead
What I really don't want to be doing today is preparing for an interview. I'm on medical leave pending maternity leave and my position is ending while on mat leave so I have to interview for a new job ugh!!!
mouseFingers crossed - knock 'em dead!

Do you ever get the feeling your being left behind? Will we ever get our rainbow? Thinking our journey is almost to it's next chapter and I am thinking I will have to deal with being childless :(
Mar 02 2015 03:30 PM
gibasgirlKnow the feeling.

Will I ever learn the lesson of not reading the comments on the CBC website that pertain to anything fertility related? Good lord, but people are mean.
JacMacHalf of them don't even read the articles before writing anything.
Mar 02 2015 04:02 AM
frostedlemonBut I bet those are the same people who happily send lots of money to that guy for his potato salad or whatever that was a while ago. It is really scary how stupid a lot of people are.
Mar 02 2015 05:08 PM
Nurse08It's the ones that are probably sitting on social assistance with a bunch of kids and know nothing about infertility and what it's like to have to experience it. Sad that ppl can't keep their negative comments to themselves.

Just waiting on beta to confirm the BFN from our last fet. We're out of embryos so we’re back to IVF. DH hasn't taken supplements for years. What are everyone's thoughts on Fertilaid vs the slew of vitamins I made him take last time. His sperms count was less than 1 million. ICSI was our only option.
gibasgirlI am sorry to hear. Wishing you better days ahead.
Mar 01 2015 08:36 AM
kristeen033I have a friend whose husband had really good results with Fertilaid. Make sure he takes them with food though because they can make him nauseous.

Discovered I gained 8 pounds during my FET, clearly I need to occupy the 2ww with things other than breakfast/lunch/dinner dates
kristeen033I gained about that with every cycle I did...fresh or frozen...and this time was no different and it was unmedicated. Sucks!!!!
Feb 28 2015 10:23 AM
ilovemydogsThat's the tough part. Eating is a great distraction - especially when you can't drink.
Feb 28 2015 11:35 AM
janny82I always gained weight while cycling but blame it on the meds as I didn't really change my eating habits. Usually lost the majority of the bloat once stopping the meds, thankfully. (The only good consolation after a failed cycle I suppose!!)

Damn! Go with G*d, Mr Nimoy. So sad.

Does anyone know if you can use CoQ10 while breastfeeding? My naturopath thinks it should be fine.
waitingforbfpNot sure about breastfeeding but I was told to stop before transfer because there were no studies showing it's effects in pregnancy. Being told that, I don't think I'd take it when breastfeeding.

Good news for gay couples :) http://www.iflscience.com/health-and-medicine/two-father-babies-could-soon-be-possible-no-egg-donor-required
frostedlemonFascinating from a science standpoint! A surrogate would still be needed; I wonder if that makes it harder or easier.
Feb 25 2015 03:04 PM
kookacolaThat is good. It's amazing how science can change the lives of infertile people.
Feb 25 2015 09:02 PM
JacMacIt would make it easier in some ways as the baby would genetically related to both and they would just need a gestational surrogate rather than to find an egg donor or traditional surrogate.
Feb 25 2015 11:22 PM
Good luck to everyone trying to make sense out of where things are at. Thinking of you all.
kookacolaWhat happened? Did I miss something?
