Where I am At Today!

Posted by amazing grace in amazing grace's Blog, 30 July 2014 · 95 views

It has been an excruciating past couple of weeks since my last ivf cycle that ended with a negative beta on July 14th. I have been going through all the emotions but managed to visit a clinic to get a second opinion. It went fairly well, although the RE was not very personable. I don't get intimated easily but I have to say, he really did intimate me. Alm...

I haven't been on this board since 2011 and while it looks like all the names have changed since I used to actively post here, I still thought I should come back and share my story.
Here is a link to my blog when DH and I stopped TTC in September 2011 which gives you the background on our reproductive history.  http://ivf.ca/forums/blog/5...

Loss, DE, adoption, Plans

As some of you know, DH and I had our most recent and devastating loss at almost 13 weeks at the end of March.  It wasn't too long or drawn out, but it did involve both Miso and a DNC a week later, as well as many weeks of bleeding, grief, and then the development of a new plan....
We've known for a while that the most likely culprit for our m...

Waiting Game and the start of IVF round #1

Posted by rascal77 in Rantings through the IVF process, 16 June 2014 · 267 views

After having the TESE done in December time seemed to stand still.  We were in the wonderful world of waiting....waiting to hear from Heartland when we would be able to start our first cycle.  We called periodically over the next couple of months to check on things and were told the same thing you can expect to be called to go in the May/June cy...

Embryo Transfer Day! Embryo Transfer Day!

I woke up excited and nervous yesterday because, after months of planning and waiting, it was finally transfer day ! But I was more nervous than anything. When we had the egg retrieval on Wednesday, there were seven eggs. Of those seven, only six fertilized. Of those six, only three were normal at our last upd...

It is over

The title says it all, result can back negative.  That sucks.  I held off testing, so I was prepared for the results to go either way.
I look back thinking there was nothing else I could have done.  I had a strong donor who had 4 previous positives.  I added intralipids, heparin, low dose aspirin, dexamethasone to the mix of dru...

Hi there,
I had my second round of IUI this past Wednesday and Thursday after having two cancelled cycles due to a cyst and high FSH.  As mentioned in an earlier post, I've been taking supplements and doing acupuncture to get my body ready.  I have low AMH, which I don't understand as the past two cycles i've had 18 antral follicles each...

Three things you should never say to a woman after a miscarriage

Posted by L&L in L&L's Blog, 10 May 2014 · 515 views

Since many of you, like me, suffered from miscarriages on top of having a hard time conceiving, I thought I'd share this article on what not to say after miscarriage. It's interesting because I think the same advice applies to other aspects of infertility.

Random thoughts

So I had my surgery almost a month ago to have my fibroid removed. It went so much better than I anticipated. Hardly any pain at all; in fact my periods were way more painful than that. I had been sick with a bad sinus cold for about three weeks before my surgery and was only starting to feel better about a week and a half before my surgery. I was startin...

Well i just got back from vacation. I was on the west coast welcoming my sisters new daughter into the world. I had a great visit. I loved being around my Niece and Nephew. But it really made me anxious about not having a family of my own. I feel that i really have to pull teeth to get appointments and test results, It's been 5 months since my last appoin...

I probably set this up wrong - I have no idea how to blog.  I'm perfectly comfortable with my lack of coolness or tech savvy.  Computer class when I went to school consisted of playing Medieval Quest on old Apples when they were cool the first time around in the 80s.  I'd still be living in the dark if it wasn't for my husband.  ;)...

Drug Hiatus

I feel like all I've been doing is popping hormones since early 2012! My phone still vibrates at various times as a reminder to pop, inject or sniff! I needed a break - so I took one!
It feels so freeing to not be tied to this process for a little while. I feel like I'm giving my body a well-deserved rest from all these drugs. I'm giving my mind a break...
