Not Again-What is the lesson now?

Posted by amazing grace in amazing grace's Blog, 10 April 2014 · 312 views

As many of you may know, it has not been an easy road for me in terms of this infertility journey. I have had four miscarriages in a row, finally found that it may have been my thyroid all along. Got that under control and decided to try again. After two months of searching the database, my husband and I finally selected a donor. I began to prepare for th...

Years ago when my cousin was struggling to conceive I sent her a crystal baby soother for good luck. She since that time had two beautiful girls.
Today I check the mail and there was the pacifier along with a note telling me to hold on to it for a while for good luck.
Having had nothing but BFN's on the frer tests for the last week I was already feeling r...

Hi Everyone,

Had my first CM last week. Had 7 follicles, which only 2 matured to 18mm and the other 20mm.
My follicles grew by 11CD to 21mm on my right side and 24mm on the other side.
My HB sperm count was 43millions, which we were extremely happy about.

Had my first IUI yesterday morning (this is after taking clomids and a trigge...

You find out who your friends are

Posted by Nurse08 in The Love of a Sister, 06 April 2014 · 418 views

Sitting here looking at a Facebook group and fundraiser page my older sister (not Gestational Carrier) set up for us to help fund this cycle and thinking you really find out who your friends are. I have 87 people that have joined my group and of those 3 (yes 3) have donated to our fundraiser. I would have thought that more people would have opened their h...

ivf@43

I can't believe I am starting my ivf cycle. Starting with the really mixed feelings: expecting the success (healthy baby) and having "no expectation" mood at the same time. We were given 15% chance for this cycle to be successful. Not much. But still worth to try. At least if it fails, I am moving forward without any regrets. If we succeed - it will be Ch...

Wanting to stay in bed under the covers

Posted by Ljo in Ljo's Blog, 15 March 2014 · 447 views

Today is a bad day for me. This afternoon I had to attend my best friend's sons 1st birthday party. Forty of her immediate family and friends. Included in that? About 7 babies and toddlers from the age of 3 months to two years. All the moms sitting together discussing sleeping schedules, the newest mommy gadgets or their child's newest developments. Wh...

Scorn

"Where is your head at?"

If I had collected my thoughts in time my answer would be "My head is in my heart, I suppose."

But there isn't always time to do that in the moment.

So here I am a childless woman in her forties wiping hot tears from her face wondering why it's ok to scorn us for wanting what others want, for trying to answer the call of the de...

looking for egg donors

Posted by torontonian in torontonian's Blog, 12 March 2014 · 179 views

I am looking for an egg donor.  Have had contact with Little Miracles and Our Fairy Godmother but am not sure that is the way to go from reviews I have read.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I am looking for someone in Ontario preferably, blond green/grey eyes.

Thanks

We have been matched to another donor.  This donor is proven x 4, quite a bit shorter than me, but her mom and brother are tall.

I dont have any details yet on timing, but I suspect it will be in a few months.  DH is going to the clinic on Apr 2nd to provide his sample.  He has a lot of travel coming up so I want to make sure that wo...

Hi Ladies,

I've used Nutrition Response Testing and it was working for me but I stopped attending the clinic. It may help people who are unexplained or who are just prepping.

www.healthpointnutrition.com clinic is in the USA. I'm talking with them to see what if anything can be done locally.

I've also started blogging on http://bethsheba2013.wordp...

ivf, end, unsuccessful and 2 more...

It's been a few months now since I've been done with IVFs and I'm still around here a little bit.  I just feel like updating.  So to recap, we spent 5 years ttc our second child, 3 years doing IUI and IVF.  All attempts were unsuccessful.  So how do I feel now?  Not that bad, honestly.

During my last IVF in the Fall, I star...

Egg, Donor, BC, AB

My husband Steve and I, Melinda, have been trying to have a baby for over 5 years. We have tried IVF 3 times without success.   We would dearly love to have a little baby to love and cherish. Thank you so much for considering giving the greatest gift of all - a gift of a baby. With the help of an egg donor our dream to have a baby may be a reality....

What to expect post transfer when using donor egg

Posted by closetobeingamommy in closetobeingamommy's Blog, 28 January 2014 · 505 views

One week ago yesterday, I had two embryos transferred using an egg donor. They were in great shape so we had two transferred. I've been experiencing mild cramping, tightness in the abdomen, mild headaches, tender breasts and today, twice, a very sticky and slimy white discharge (sorry a bit yucky). I go in Thursday, 1/30, for my blood test and get result...

After meeting with the RE in November about what our next steps were, I was pretty surprised that she threw us a curve ball.  That we had at least a couple of more options before we had to start looking for a surrogate.

To be honest, a part of me hoped that our journey would be over.  That after the Quality Assurance Rounds, (where...

This is my first time going through IVF. A little about me. I am 38 years old. I have three healthy children ages 21, 10 and 8. I met and married my soul mate, the love of my life just a year and a half ago. He is 43 years old and has no children.
