My body does not like Suprefact !

 
   So finally I am getting close to my first and the only ivf cycle.
   I was paranoid about starting the Suprefact injections on the right time so asked my RE about the ovulation monitoring. CD#11 test results confirmed that I’ve ovulated and I had the green light to start Suprefact on CD#17, as expected. I was given the instructions of “self-administration” and was told to do the injections once a day at the same time. The most convenient time for me to do that is just before going to the bed – around midnight.
  I was scared a little bit to do it, but the procedure itself turned out to be not so difficult and not so scared. The “fun” began just after I’ve got my shot. I got very anxious, my heart was beating like crazy. I thought it is just because the overall anxiety about the starting ivf cycle. I managed to fall asleep , but it took me a long time. Then I woke up before the alarm clock – which never happend to me and I still was feeling this anxiety, but not so intense as at midnight. Then I had the problem with my appetite .  I had some snack before the lunch since I was hungry. Then I had a lunch. Then I felt I am not yet full and had a bagel with cream cheese and a cup of tea. Then I had the banana. Then I’ve realized that I should stop eating since this hunger most probably comes because of the hormonal changes caused by suprefact and not because I am hungry. So I switched to drinking the water until the end of the day and then had just a light supper. Somehow the day passed and I did the second injection. And got the same pattern – anxiety, hard time to fall asleep and woke up before the alarm clock. And, moreover, my DH woke me up around 1 a.m. because he was scared about my breathing… I got scared too and the first thing I did  in the morning - emailed to my nurse with the questions if this is what I should expect and what should I do with such reaction.  Meanwhile browsed the internet with the search “suprefact side effects” and found out that insomnia is the pretty common side effect and the anxiety , hypertension and breathing problems are less common, but not unusual…  By the nurse recommendation I moved the time for injection to the earlier time – and felt much better after the shot #3. Same anxiety, but it got much easier by the time I went to the bed.
     So now I am counting the days until my AF comes when I will reduce the dose, meanwhile watching my diet (looks like my hunger is under control now). I do not like at all this anxiety feeling… And I am really hoping that Gonal-F will be more friendly to my body.
    The interesting thing though is that I did not get the most common side effects - hot flashes, mood swings and headaches (and I am happy about that)
