Plusle's Egg Donor Journey

[Donation] The end ...?

Posted by plusle , 26 August 2015 · 1,452 views

My participation in my IPs' journey as a donor has officially ended. But has my role as a donor end here? Or does it end when she conceives, or when her baby is born, or when her baby grows up?
I know that my responsibility do not end here. For exmaple, if I were to come down with some kind of illness that has a genetic component, it will be my dut...

After lots of paper work and waiting, finally onto the cyce itself! Strangely excited given how cold and clinical the tasks are, but all warm fuzzy when I think about the significance behind all this.
Some thoughts:
I had no idea medication was so expensive.
I have a wonderful Intended Parent who has given me lots of companionship and...

[Donation] All Done!

All done!
The results from my side couldn't have been better. Slightly more than average number of eggs were retrieved;  I didn't have any pains or need for painkillers; quick recovery with some dizziness only from the antibiotics; large majority of eggs fertilzed!
It will be many many months before this phase will truly end for m...

[Donation] initial bloodwork

From seed to flower

After a long, long year of waiting, my Mimosa Pudica plant (aka Shy Grass) has blossomed! The seeds were purchased years ago from an online retailer. I actually planted 5, and only one of the tiny plants lived past the first month. It was also so tiny and barely had any leaves. All year long it threatened to shrivel up overnight...until suddenly, a bud!...

Dolce&Gabanna vs IVF

Children are human beings, however their miracle started. Better ART children today born to families who have long awaited for their arrival than unwanted pregnancies and coerced young brides in poor or sexist countries who had no choice.

Psalm 113:9

"He gives a home to the woman who could not give birth and makes her the mother of children. Praise the Lord!"

Even Naomi, living in the Ancient times, whose life had turned bitter after the death of her two sons, was able to smile again when her egg donor/surrogate and sperm donor gave her a son in her older age.

I hope this is the year of rejoicing fo...

Here goes!

I haven't been around the Infertility world for very long, only a few weeks while I have been reading up on egg donation. One concern that recipient sometimes have is if donors might "claim" their baby in any way after the donation process, legally or emotionally. I think that's a legitimate worry, of course.
The We Are Egg Donors blog had a...
